TasRecycle, a not-for-profit consortium in Australia led by Asahi, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners and Lion, will manage Tasmania's new plastic container refund initiative, Recycle Rewards. The scheme aims to enhance recycling and reduce waste by offering consumers a ten-cent refund for each eligible container returned. Recycle Rewards will bolster local recycling infrastructure, supporting Tasmania's circular economy goals.

Campaign organization Foodwatch filed complaints against Nestlé Waters and Alma for allegedly using illegal processing methods, such as UV disinfection and activated carbon filters, in their bottled water brands, including Perrier, Vittel and Cristaline. Nestlé previously avoided further prosecution through a €2 million settlement for ecological damage in French towns where it extracts water, but Foodwatch's complaint also accuses the companies of contaminating water with harmful pollutants and criticizes the lack of government action. It seeks judicial intervention to hold both companies more accountable for health risks and transparency violations, criticizing the Nestlé settlement.
