Coca-Cola Seeks Dismissal Of Lawsuit Alleging Misleading Claims About Fresca Soda Water

Coco-Cola filed a motion to dismiss a proposed class action lawsuit in Illinois, which accuses the company of misleading consumers about the ingredients of its Fresca Soda Water. The lawsuit alleges that the fruit flavors and imagery on the product packaging created a false impression of significant fruit ingredients, despite the beverage only containing fruit flavoring. The plaintiffs also argue that the term 'soda water' led them to believe that Fresca has no added sweeteners, despite containing aspartame, a non-nutritive sweetener.

Nestlé Unveils Compostable Paper-Based Capsules For Nespresso Coffee Machines

Nestlé announced new paper-based capsules for its Nespresso coffee machines, offering a compostable alternative to its existing recyclable aluminum capsules. The paper-based capsules are made from responsibly sourced wood fiber and a compostable biopolymer material. Nepresso will release the paper-based capsules with four exclusive new recipes, including an organic option, in France and Switzerland from June. Nepresso plans for future expansion across Europe.

Rage Coffee, an Indian-based start-up, recently launched its first ready-to-drink coffee, which achieved sales of 100,000 within its first month. The RTD coffee offers a cold coffee and dairy blend, which aims to attract Indian consumers away from tea. The beverage is available in mocha frappe, salted caramel, and hazelnut latte flavors, with plans to introduce four additional flavors in the next six months. It is priced at 140 rupees per 240ml can.

JM Smucker Company To Introduce Dunkin' Liquid Coffee Concentrate In Multiple Flavors

The J.M. Smucker Company is launching a liquid coffee concentrate under the Dunkin’ brand in July. The concentrate is available in 31-ounce bottles and can be diluted with various options including hot or cold water. It will initially be offered in unsweetened black coffee and pumpkin flavors, with caramel replacing the pumpkin flavor after October. Smucker claims its liquid coffee concentrate is the first consumer-facing product of its kind from a mass-market coffee brand.

US-based brand Launch Hydrate became the official sports drink of Perfect Game, an amateur sports organization. Launch Hydrate is formulated with Cognizin, a natural nootropic that has been clinically shown to enhance attention, psychomotor speed, and memory. Its drinks also contain L-Alanyl-L-Glutamine, an amino acid blend that optimizes electrolyte and water absorption for rapid hydration. Additionally, the brand claims its beverages have higher electrolytes than leading market products. The beverages incorporate Bizz Energy’s SuperTurk blend, which combines a water-soluble form of Turkesterone, a natural energy-boosting steroid hormone, with Creatine, L-Carnitine, and essential amino acid. Bizz Energy claims that this blend supports muscle mass and strength. Additionally, the drinks contain Niacin and Biotin, which the brand suggest contribute to an active metabolism.
