Coca-Cola Hellenic Opens $35M Production Line In Egypt

Coca-Cola Hellenic Egypt inaugurated a $35 million PET bottle production line at its Amreya factory in Alexandria, with a capacity exceeding 65,000 bottles per hour and an ann William Reed Ltdual output of 33 million cartons. CEO Zoran Bogdanovic said Egypt is one of the company’s most important strategic markets, noting investment of over $1.1 billion between 2022 and 2025, with a further $1.28 billion planned through 2030. Coca-Cola Hellenic Egypt operates five production facilities in the country, directly employs 4,900 people and supports around 64,000 jobs across its value chain.

Coca-Cola Uses AI To Reach Premium And Value Consumers

Coca-Cola President and CFO John Murphy, speaking at Deutsche Bank’s Global Consumer Conference, said the company is moving away from a volume-first approach toward using AI to target consumers across income levels in today’s “K-shaped economy”. Murphy described AI as "more of a growth enabler than a cost reducer," powering the company’s retail growth management system to develop both premium and value products. Incoming CEO Henrique Braun is pushing for greater performance from more of the company’s 200-plus brands across over 200 countries. Coca-Cola cited its high-protein Fairlife brand Core Power as an example of higher-margin expansion.

BODYARMOR FIT Launches Sparkling Zero-Sugar Sports Drink

BODYARMOR Sports Drink launched BODYARMOR FIT, a sparkling sports drink in a 12oz slim can with five flavors. Each can contains 290mg of electrolytes, 60mg of caffeine, as well as functional ingredients including choline and green tea extract, with zero sugar and no artificial flavors, sweeteners or dyes. Supporting the launch is a digital campaign called Fitness Never Rests, featuring NFL quarterback Joe Burrow.

KDP Plans Global Coffee Co. Spinoff For Early 2027 Launch

Keurig Dr Pepper confirmed its planned coffee spinoff, temporarily named Global Coffee Co., is on track for an early 2027 launch following the $18.4 billion acquisition of JDE Peet’s. Global Coffee Co. is expected to generate nearly $16 billion in sales and hold a top-two coffee position in more than 35 markets. KDP’s remaining beverage business, which includes soft drinks, energy drinks and hydration, will trade separately as Beverage Co. 

Dr Pepper Zero Sugar Launches On The Island Of Ireland

Dr Pepper Zero Sugar joined the brand’s portfolio in Ireland and Northern Ireland, available in 500ml bottles, 2L bottles and 6x330ml can multipacks. According to NielsenIQ data over 2.4 million liters of Dr Pepper were sold across the island of Ireland in the year to March 2026. 

KDP Energy Portfolio Growth Offers Blueprint For Category Expansion

Keurig Dr Pepper’s energy drink portfolio grew from near-zero market share five years ago to approximately 8% in Q1 2026. CEO Timothy Cofer credited the growth to a "flexible build-buy-partner approach" encompassing distribution partnerships, such as Electrolit, equity investments including C4 and Bloom, and outright acquisitions, like Ghost. KDP acquired a 30% stake in Nutrabolt for $863 million in 2022 and a 60% stake in Ghost in a deal announced in October 2024.

CCU Acquires Nestlé’s Stake In Chilean Water Joint Venture

Chilean drinks company CCU acquired Nestlé’s 49.9% stake in Aguas CCU-Nestlé Chile for approximately 165 million pesos ($180 million). CCU will continue to distribute water and coffee-based drinks for Nestlé in Chile following the transaction. Nestlé said the deal reflects its continued focus on portfolio discipline and simplification. The venture, established in 2007, held a production and sales license for the Nestlé Pura Vida (Pure Life) brand and also bottled the Cachantun and Porvenir water brands.

Zyro India Launches Skinny Pop Zero-Sugar Beverage Range

VRB Consumer Products and musician Karan Aujla launched Skinny Pop, a zero-sugar, zero-calorie beverage range under the Zyro brand in India. The Skinny Pop line comprises Vita Cola, which contains Vitamins C and B12; Ginger Ale; and Tonic Water. Managing director Viraj Bahl said the range is aimed at consumers seeking better-for-you alternatives in familiar formats. Products will be available through retail outlets and e-commerce platforms, with planned expansion across additional markets. 

Korean Brands Launch Prebiotic Sodas To Meet Health Trend

Lotte Chilsung Beverage and hy both entered Korea’s emerging prebiotic soda market. In April, Lotte launched Happiz, a zero-sugar, zero-calorie drink using a patented yeast strain and five fermented Korean ingredients. hy launched Aari in partnership with K-pop band BTS. It features a dual biotic formula combining prebiotics and postbiotics, and it sold out on launch day online in Korea after debuting at Walmart in the US in April.
