Powerade Launches Power Your Fate World Cup Campaign

Powerade rolled out its FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign, ‘Power Your Fate.’ As official sports drink of the tournament, Powerade will feature footballers Lamine Yamal and Rodrygo Goes plus elite and everyday athletes, in films, social content, in-stadium branding, fan activations and more. Limited-edition squeeze bottles signed by Yamal and Goes will target consumers via select promotions, and street portrait artist Devon Rodriguez will paint athletes on bottles. 

Coca-Cola Japan To Raise Prices On 165 Products

Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. is hiking prices on 165 items from September between 3.2% and 18.7%. Affected lines include flagship Coca-Cola drinks along with bottled and canned coffee and tea products. Climbing prices for naphtha and aluminum, combined with persistently high energy costs tied to Middle East instability, are squeezing margins, and a weak yen added to import expenses. Having found it harder to absorb the costs internally, the bottler said it needs to shift some of the cost on to consumers.

Sanpellegrino Launches CIAO! Sparkling Water Range In Australia

Italian sparkling beverage brand Sanpellegrino unveiled CIAO!, a range of flavored sparkling waters made using fruit juice plus a touch of Sicilian salt to enhance the natural flavor. Sold in Lime, Blood Orange, and Peach varieties, each can contains no added sugar and is low in calories. Damian Giorgini, Brand Manager for Sanpellegrino Italian Sparkling Drinks, said CIAO! Is “a natural extension of our Italian heritage, reimagined for today’s Australian consumer.” 

Nescafé Dispute In Thailand Escalates With New Allegations

Conflict over Nescafé in Thailand intensified, with the Mahagitsiri family pursuing legal action against Nestlé while the Swiss group cites arbitration and Singapore court rulings to back its termination of a former joint venture. Quality Coffee Products Ltd, the 50:50 venture that made Nescafé in Thailand for decades, lost its right to produce the brand when the agreement terminated at the end of 2024. A Thai court briefly halted output in April 2024, prompting Nestlé to import stock from Vietnam and Malaysia. Nestlé also filed a damages claim said to be worth hundreds of millions of baht. Chalermchai Mahagitsiri, son of Prayudh, now alleges the family was pressured to sell shares below fair value.

French Anti-Fraud Officers Raid Nestlé Perrier Bottling Sites

French anti-fraud investigators raided two Nestlé-owned Perrier bottling facilities in Vergèze, southern France, along with a laboratory in the Vosges mountains. A Nestlé Waters spokesperson confirmed the unannounced inspections and said the company continues “to cooperate fully with the authorities involved.” Reuters reported that the operation forms part of a probe launched after a consumer group lodged a complaint to the Paris prosecutor alleging “deceit”.

Zafra Launches Saffron-Based Mood Drink In The UAE

Zafra rolled out what it claims to be a world-first saffron-based drink combining carbonated water, lemon juice, rose water and 36mg of actual saffron, not extract. Zafra is positioning the product around saffron’s reputation for lifting energy and boosting mood. Made in Italy, the drink retails in the UAE on platforms such as Noon Minutes, Talabat Mart and Careem. The product delivers 42 calories and 10.5g of carbs per serving.

Prodalim Buys Better Juice For Sugar Reduction Technology

Prodalim acquired Israeli food technology firm Better Juice for an undisclosed amount. Founded in 2017 and based in Rehovot, Israel, Better Juice specializes in what it calls perceived-as-natural sugar reduction. Its patented enzymatic process passes juice through a flow bio-reactor carrying non-GMO microorganisms, converting fructose, glucose and sucrose into prebiotic and non-digestible fibers. 

Spritzer Becomes Malaysia’s First NSF-Certified Bottled Water Brand

Malaysian bottled water producer Spritzer secured NSF’s first Malaysian product certification covering bottled water and beverages. It applies to three lines: Natural Mineral Water, Distilled Drinking Water and Sparkling Carbonated Natural Mineral Water. NSF APAC Managing Director Sutida Ketudut said the certification helps brands stand out and gives consumers a verified, reliable drinking water option. Dr Chuah of Spritzer noted that the company prioritizes packaging integrity and sustainability through recycled materials, with the natural mineral water range using packaging verified to contain no microplastics. Certified products may now display the NSF mark and appear on its website. 

Perfect Purée Of Napa Valley Buys Strongwater Brand

Perfect Purée of Napa Valley, a US supplier of premium fruit products to chefs and beverage makers, acquired Colorado-based Strongwater, which makes bitters, mixers and whole-plant drinks featuring global flavor profiles and functional properties. Financial terms were not disclosed. Strongwater will keep producing in Colorado and CEO Michele Lex said the two businesses share an artisan ethos and a commitment to craftsmanship and flavor innovation. Strongwater’s lineup spans non-alcoholic drinks, botanical mixers, sparkling tonics, bitters and functional beverages. Perfect Purée plans to use its foodservice distribution network to accelerate Strongwater’s reach across bars and restaurants, hotels and specialty retailers throughout the US.
