Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan unveiled a hydrogen-powered vending machine that generates electricity through a reaction between hydrogen and oxygen, operating independently and without CO₂ emissions. Debuting at the Osaka-Kansai Expo on April 13, it features a monitor displaying its energy process and supports Coca-Cola’s Coke ON® app, offering visual, tactile and auditory assistance. Coca-Cola aims to enhance accessibility for all users, including the elderly and people with disabilities.
Innocent in the UK launched innocent kids juicy water in collaboration with Coca-Cola Europacific Partners. Available in apples & strawberries and apples & mangoes flavors, the drinks contain no added sugar, sweeteners or artificial flavors and count as one of the recommended 5-a-day. The launch aims to support healthier hydration for children, addressing parental concerns about nutrition. Following an exclusive debut in 549 Burger King restaurants, the drinks will hit convenience stores on April 5, supported by a marketing campaign that will include in-store materials and digital assets.
Coca-Cola says it is investing $1.4 billion in Argentina to enhance production, logistics and infrastructure over the next four years, a commitment that reflects confidence in the country’s economic potential and strengthens Coca-Cola’s role in the local market. Company executives, including President John Murphy, met with Argentina’s President Javier Milei to discuss the initiative.

Coca-Cola’s European operations were reportedly among targets for recent EU antitrust raids as part of investigations into potential violations in the non-alcoholic drinks sector. Regulators suspect companies of dividing the EU market to limit competition and increase profits. Coca-Cola and its bottling partners, including Coca-Cola Europacific Partners and Coca-Cola HBC, have not commented on the probe. If found guilty, penalties could reach 10% of global revenue.
Arca Continental, a Coca-Cola bottler, will invest a record $895 million in 2025 to expand production and distribution. A quarter of this investment will strengthen its US operations, particularly in Texas and the Southwest, while half will be spent in Mexico. South American operations will also see improvements, including new bottling lines and expanded distribution networks. This strategic expansion comes as businesses navigate economic uncertainties provoked by US policy decisions. Arca reported strong financial growth in 2024, with sales rising 10.9% and net profit up 11.8%.

Keurig Dr Pepper will launch a range of new flavors in 2025, including Dr Pepper Blackberry, 7UP Tropical and A&W Ice Cream Sundae. Blackberry-flavored Dr Pepper is a permanent addition, capitalizing on rising demand for fruity carbonated soft drinks. 7UP Tropical blends mango and peach, while Snapple Peach Tea & Lemonade adds a citrus twist to its top-selling tea. KDP is also expanding its zero-sugar offerings, including RC Cola Zero Sugar. KDP is planning exclusive regional and retailer-specific launches, strengthening its position in flavor innovation.
Keurig Dr Pepper is rapidly expanding its energy drink portfolio, expecting over $1 billion in retail sales in the category by 2025 and a double-digit share in the coming years. The company acquired a 60% stake in Ghost Energy, with plans to take full ownership by 2028, and is transitioning its distribution into its direct store delivery network. KDP also holds a 30% stake in Nutrabolt, maker of C4 Energy, and is partnering with Black Rifle Energy and Bloom, targeting diverse consumer segments.
Nestle
Nestlé Vietnam is strengthening its commitment to gender equality through its long-term partnership with the Vietnam Women's Union. The "Nestlé Accompanies Women" program provides training and resources to over 25,400 members, benefiting two million households with nutrition and safety education while supporting women entrepreneurs. Future plans include integrating the initiative into government-backed programs to expand its impact.
Nestlé is exploring the sale of its water business, valued at around €5 billion, with PAI Partners, Bain Capital, KKR and Clayton Dubilier & Rice among potential buyers. The company may retain a stake in the unit, which is set to become a standalone global business in 2025. Backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, it offers natural sweetness from dates, without refined sugars, artificial additives or preservatives. It contains potassium, magnesium and fiber. Milaf Cola will be available on Amazon and Milaf’s website, at select retailers, and through a partnership with fast-food chain Cheatmeals.

Hamdard Asli Milkshakes offer creamy, preservative-free flavors like Chocolate and Mango for kids and young adults. NBA star Steph Curry is launching PLEZi Hydration, a new sports drink, in partnership with Michelle Obama’s PLEZi brand. PLEZi Hydration offers three flavors and aims to stand out with no added sugar, lower sodium and high electrolytes. It’s available on Amazon and in select California stores. PLEZi seeks to attract health-conscious consumers looking for "better-for-you" alternatives to traditional sports drinks.
