CCEP To Shutter Clamart Site In France By End Of 2025

Production at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners’ factory at Clamart near Paris is to move to one of its two sites in Grigny, in southern Paris, by the end of next year. Clamart, builT almost 60 years ago, is CCEP’s oldest site in the country but is a “fast-developing urban area”, limiting further development at the plant. CCEP will invest €32m at the Grigny plant, adding to a €114m commitment announced last year to reduce carbon emissions and build a “genuine circular packaging economy”. Works include installing a returnable glass production line. François Gay-Bellile, CEO of CCEP in France said the investment will help the company deliver the “environmental transition to which the group is committed”.

Danone

Reports Say Danone Agrees To Sell Its Russian Business To Dairy Company

Now called H&N, Danone is selling its Russian business to a local businessman for around $190 million. The assets, seized by the Russian authorities last year, will be acquired by Vamin Tatarstan, a domestic dairy company owned by Mintimer Mingazov. Russia’s Ministry of Agriculture still needs to approve the deal before a special government subcommittee decides on whether it can go ahead. Danone will support the business until the end of July next year. Reports suggest Danone has lost over €700 million in Russia since its operation there was seized, but the deal would represent a 56 percent mark-down versus market value. Danone has so far declined to comment on the reports.

Danone Sees Pricing To Continue This Year, But More Selectively

In a call with analysts, Danone’s CEO, Antoine de Saint-Affrique, said the company will continue with pricing measures this year even though inflation is moderating. CFO Juergen Esser added that inflationary pressures this year are likely to come from transport, via oil prices, raw material prices and foreign exchange, especially in emerging markets. However, Esser said Danone would be “much more selective… depending on the category and depending on the region”. 2023 sales were up 7 percent like-for-like. Danone Waters saw sales rise 9.1 percent, with volume/mix up 0.8 percent.
