Swire Coca-Cola Acquires Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam

Swire Coca-Cola Ltd. announced the completion of its acquisition of Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam Ltd., the Coca-Cola bottling subsidiary in Vietnam. Swire Coca-Cola now owns and operates three beverage production facilities, 18 production lines, and six distribution centers across Vietnam with a direct and indirect workforce of over 3,500 people. This transaction marks another major Swire Coca-Cola investment in Southeast Asia following the acquisition of Cambodia Beverage Co., Ltd. in November 2022. 

Coca-Cola China Sells Still Drinks Business To China Foods, Swire Pacific

Coca Cola China has sold its non-aerated beverages business in 13 cities to Cofco Group company China Foods, Swire Pacific in a bid to boost production management efficiency. The deal covers functional water, fruit juices, coffee, tea and dairy beverages and includes the brands of Minute Maid, Shuidole, Chunyue, Chunchasha and Costa. The change was made to optimize production management efficiency and enhance supply chain linkage.

Dr Pepper Experiences Growth In Stagnant Soda Market

Dr Pepper is experiencing growth as the overall soda market remains stagnant. Dr Pepper soda grew its dollar share by 9 percent from 2003 to 2021, compared with a 26 percent drop in the carbonated soft drinks category overall, according to the IRI and the Beverage Digest factbook. Today, KDP still trails behind Coca-Cola and PepsiCo, but it’s narrowing the gap. By volume, Coca-Cola controlled about 40 percent of the U.S. retail market in the first nine months of 2022, followed by PepsiCo with about 29 percent and Keurig Dr Pepper with roughly 25 percent.

Reliance Consumer Products Acquires 50% Stake In Sosyo Hajoori Beverages

Reliance Consumer Products Ltd. will acquire a 50 percent stake in carbonated juice and soft drinks maker Sosyo Hajoori Beverages Pvt Ltd. This acquisition will enable RCPL to enhance its beverage portfolio and will help scale Sosyo Hajoori’s production and distribution. The Hajoori family will continue to own the remaining stake.

Prime Introduces New RTD Line Prime Energy

Energy drink brand Prime, founded by YouTubers KSI and Logan Paul, announced its expansion into a new beverage category with the launch of Prime Energy. Each can of Prime Energy contains 200mg of caffeine, 300mg of electrolytes and zero sugar. Prime Energy comes in five flavors: Blue Raspberry, Tropical Punch, Lemon Lime and two new flavors Prime flavors, Orange Mango and Strawberry Watermelon. It will be available on drinkprime.com and sold in U.S. retailers including Walmart, Target, GNC, The Vitamin Shoppe, CVS and Kroger Family Stores. Later this year, it will be launched in the U.K. and other markets.

Magic Hour Launches New Wellness Tea Collection Inspired By Global Destinations

Premium tea brand Magic Hour has announced the launch of its newest line: the Wanderlust Tea Collection. Each month this year, Magic Hour will release a new flavor inspired by different locations around the world. The teas support targeted areas of wellness and are sourced from small farmers in various regions. January’s flavor is Tulum Horchata Chai, with upcoming flavors inspired by Ravello, Marrakesh, Kyoto, Bali, Sri Lanka and the Amalfi Coast. Each tea from the line includes a regional artisan tea towel, tasting notes, regional art postcard with artwork and educational materials. The line will be available to purchase on Magic Hour’s website in a variety of sizes including the Apothecary Jar for $49.00 (60-75 cups), Luxe Pouch $33 (60-75 cups), Traveler Jar $17 (10-15 cups) and Sampler Pouch $13 (10-15 cups).

Prime Energy Drinks Expand To Aldi Stores

Prime energy drink, created by YouTubers KSI and Logan Paul, is available to purchase in the Specialbuy section of Aldis across the UK. A purchase limit of one of each variant per customer has been set due to the high demand. Previously, bottles of Prime have been exclusively sold at Asda. 

Ujjo Launches With Hot Sauce For Beverages

Ujjo has launched with its hot sauce for beverages. Using a mix of chilis and natural sweeteners, the hot sauce comes in two varieties: dark roast, with notes of cinnamon, cocoa, vanilla and molasses, and light roast, with notes of citrus and ginger. The sauces are made to flavor coffee, tea and cocktails but can also be used as a topping on food, such as breakfast tacos or ice cream. Ujjo’s hot sauce is available to purchase on its website for $13.50 per 5 oz bottle.
